(Sorry, no š„” noodles... just the name š )
Well, it's not just a name ā itās a story. A journey. One that didnāt go the way I planned, but still brought me somewhere meaningful.
I started this dream on May 30th, 2024, when I began working on opening a Thai noodle shop. I was excited to bring comforting Thai flavors to Sacramento ā warm noodles, bold spices, the real deal.
I tried hard to get the building permit. I hired experts. I followed every step. But the process dragged on. I couldnāt even get the kitchen hood installed ā a key part of the kitchen ā despite all the time, money, and energy I poured in.
After months of trying... I had to face it: it just wasnāt going to happen. It was a no-hope project. And that broke my heart. But I still believed in the space ā and in myself.
So I shifted. I asked myself: āWhat can I do with what I already have?ā Thatās when the idea of a coffee shop came to life. No kitchen hood needed. Just good coffee, warmth, and a welcoming place for the community.
I didnāt want to forget where it all started. Thatās why I kept the name: āSpice and Noodle Coffeeā. āSpice and Noodleā honors the original dream that couldnāt bloom. āCoffeeā represents the dream Iām living now.
Iām not alone either ā many small business owners are going through the same struggle. This article tells stories just like mine.
But hereās what I learned: Even when your first dream doesnāt work out, it doesnāt mean the story ends. Sometimes, the backup plan becomes something even more beautiful. And sometimes, broken pieces still build something worth loving.
Thatās what āSpice and Noodle Coffeeā is all about. A tribute to what couldāve been. A celebration of what is. And a reminder to keep going. š
